Why do I seem to get different blood pressure readings at home than in the hospital clinic?

Note: Blood pressure can fluctuate throughout the day due to weather, emotions, exercise, etc. Blood pressure may also fluctuate between the clinical environment (hospital) and home as a “white coat” effect means some patients’ blood pressures will increase in a clinic setting due to anxiety.

    My doctor is asking for history on my BP readings… daily. The original one I have does have a limited history but not much and it’s a pain to track and not handy when I’m at the doctor’s office. Having seen bluetooth models exceed $100, I was pleased to find this for about 1/3rd the price.The monitor is a wireless device operating on 4x AAA batteries.     This BP cuff has a lot going for it. It has an arm cuff, which in my experience is generally more accurate that the wrist cuffs. The cuff size is not bariatric, but it is generously sized. I have a friend who works out a lot whose blood pressure I check regularly, and the other automatic cuff I had does not fit him properly, This one works fine. I checked the results against a manual cuff and pulse check and found that the BP readings appear to be spot on, and pulse measures consistently a bit…

    This blood pressure monitor unit comes with an arm cuff, main data display unit and a manual. 4-AAA batteries are required but not supplied. Bluetooth is easy to pair and the unit is easy to operate. Measurement readings on app was instantaneous. I like that it saves my readings via a phone app. This way I can recall the numbers without having to wait until I get home to check the memory.
